- Originally when I started this 23 Things on a Stick project I was a reference librarian assistant at my local public library, a job I never envisioned myself in. Trained in Computer Science and later as a web content manager, I left a job of 24 years to move with my husband to further his career. I didn't work for a year and a half, and then started looking and saw an ad for a shelving (clerk) position at our library. I decided to apply, mostly on a whim and because I thought the hours would be perfect. Since then, I'm moved up to the reference desk, which I love! I get to more directly help people and the staff here are wonderful! LIBRARIES ROCK! Since then, I have moved from Red Wing, Minnesota, to Madison, Wisconsin, again following my husband's career. I managed to find a wonderful job at the University of Wisconsin-Madison's medical library, Ebling Library. I do a lot of things here--help with circulation, document delivery, clerical work and am training for the reference desk. Being in a specialized academic library has been a lot different than my previous public library experience, but I am enjoying it immensely. I was so happy to find another library job!
